So we enthusiastically welcome SinPatinhas, the new National Household Animal Registration System coordinated by Brazil’s Federal Government: free, entirely digital and designed to catalogue pets nationwide so they stop being invisible victims when policy planning is done.

SinPatinhas sits inside the wider ProPatinhas programme led by Brazil’s Ministry of Environment and pushes humane population stewardship for dogs and cats. The registry feeds sterilisation pushes, vaccination routes, chip campaigns and anti-abandonment efforts with hard data—not guesswork.

The workflow is painless: tutors sign in via Gov.br, fill the animal’s profile and download a digital ID card carrying a QR code that attaches to collars and massively speeds reunion if someone goes missing.
